The Untitled Gary Hilborn Project - A Blog

Welcome to my blog. Make yourself comfortable. Have a look around, and please let me know if you need anything. Hospitality is a chief export back where I'm from,  so I mean it when I say that. You can take the boy out of the South, but you can't take the South out of the boy.

You may be wondering about the title of this blog, so let me go ahead and clear that up. My life revolves around my passion for the arts and my work in the entertainment industry. While brainstorming ideas on what to call this writing project, it occurred to me that incorporating a little lingo would be appropriate. In short, a "working title" seemed apt for a work-in-progress like myself.

I encourage you click the "subscribe" button above to be automatically notified when I publish new posts. Your email address stays with me, and I'll never distribute it to anyone else. If you're not yet following me on Instagram, please do. I consider that a visual companion to this blog, and I enjoy sharing videos and photos of my life and work on that platform.  Finally, I hope you'll take advantage of the comments section and "repost" buttons at the end of each these entries. I look forward to hearing from you as I write about  my journey, and I'd be happy for you to share my posts with your followers and friends. Thanks again for stopping by.

All the best,

Gary

I hit a wall. I dropped the ball. I ran out of steam. I choked. We can euphemize the situation any old way you like. But the truth is simply this: I didn't do what I set out to do....

At the age of twelve I started paying attention to the business of showbiz. Premiere magazine made its U.S. debut in 1987, and I remember seeing it advertised on TV. I stood absolutely...

You guys, I have a confession to make. This isn't my first go at a blog. Approximately ten years ago, I wrote exactly four entries and then threw in the towel.

Slowly but surely this life can evolve into the thing you want it to be. If you're lucky and you work at it, it can. Lately, I find myself basking in gratitude as my calendar fills...

We sat cross-legged on the carpeted floor in Brandy's bedroom. She lived two doors down from me on the street where we grew up - a loop of blacktop with three homes situated in the...

I have been a little procrastinatory about starting this entry. Vacation just ended, and I took a week off from the blog. I decided to spend the time away in Mexico enjoying myself with...

I spent most of December back in Louisiana. Dad was tackling some health concerns, and all my acting commitments had wound down just after Thanksgiving. It was the perfect moment to hea...

I started watching the soaps with my Nana. That's my mom's mom, and it’s important to me that you understand the pronunciation of her name. It's Nah-Nah with an emphasis on...
